“Traveling with a Blank Map – The Art of the Novel”

The multi-award-winning Colombian writer Juan Gabriel Vásquez held the “Friedrich Dürrenmatt Visiting Professorship for World Literature” at the University of Bern in the spring of 2017. In his weekly seminar, he explored “The Art of the Novel” with his students. The result of these Bern lectures is now being published in German in book form under the title “Reisen mit weißer Landkarte” (Traveling with a Blank Map). uniAKTUELL presents excerpts from it in advance, with a foreword by Bern-based literary scholar Oliver Lubrich.
